Vanderbilt Heads to Michigan

Dores compete in weekend of events at Oakland

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s swimming team travels to Michigan to begin a weekend of events hosted by Oakland. The Commodores will open action on Friday against Oakland and Milwaukee in a tri-meet, followed by competing in the Grizzlie Relays on Saturday at the Oakland Aquatic Center.

The Golden Bears currently hold an 0-2 record after setbacks to Michigan and Miami (Ohio).

The Dores will face a Milwaukee team ready to make its season debut.

On Saturday, the Commodores will race against five teams – Oakland, Michigan, Wayne State, Calvin College and Hope College.

Opening the season last week, the Commodores fell short to SEC foe Alabama at the Centennial Sportsplex. Five freshmen made their Commodore debuts with Alix Roy notching two second-place finishes, one in the 500 free (5:06.17) and another in the 1,000 (10:24.26) free.

The Dores closed the meet earning eight top-three finishes.

Vanderbilt will begin the weekend’s competition on Friday at 3 p.m. CT and Saturday’s Grizzlie Relays will kick off at noon.
