ATHENS, Ga. – Vanderbilt lost to Georgia, 10-0, in seven innings Friday night at Foley Field.
Georgia scored in each inning and out-hit Vanderbilt nine to three.
Charlie Condon gave Georgia a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, hitting his 31st homer on the season. The Bulldogs scored on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the second and plated a pair of runs in the third on a fielder’s choice and an error to lead 4-0.
An RBI double in the bottom of the fourth gave Georgia a five-run advantage.
A single and a walk preceded a three-run homer by Paul Toetz in the bottom of the fifth to make it 8-0.
Georgia went up by 10 with a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth by Slate Alford.
Vanderbilt and Georgia will meet at 1 p.m. CT Saturday at Foley Field for the second game in the series.
