The Commodores and Gators face off for the sixth time this season when the two teams battle Friday at 1 p.m. on ESPN. Vanderbilt ace Sonny Gray gets the nod against Florida lefty Alex Panteliodis.

In Gray’s lone outing against Florida this year, the right-hander allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits with four strikeouts in six innings before the game was suspended due to weather at Hawkins Field on May 13. Gray takes the ball for the 19th time this season and is 12-3 with a 2.12 ERA.

Panteliodis pitched Florida to a Southeastern Conference Tournament championship in the Gators’ 5-0 win over VU in Hoover, Ala. The southpaw pitched 5.1 scoreless innings to earn the win. Panteliodis makes his 12th start of the year and is 6-2 with a 3.95 ERA

Vanderbilt enters the game 2-1 in the school’s first-ever College World Series having beat North Carolina twice and losing to Florida in a suspended game over Monday night and Tuesday morning. The Gators beat Texas in the opening round and have not played since beating Vanderbilt.

Friday’s game can also be seen on ESPN3.com and heard on WNSR 560 AM in Nashville, VUCommodores.com, Sirius 94 and XM 190.

Vanderbilt will need to beat Florida two times to advance to the CWS championship series. Should Vanderbilt win on Friday, it will play Florida again on Saturday at either 1 p.m. or 6 p.m.
