VANDERBILT NOTES
Vanderbilt has reached the NCAA tournament for the 25th time and 13th in a row. This marks the first year the Commodores have played a NCAA Tournament game in Nashville since 2006.

Vanderbilt is now 15-2 in NCAA play in Memorial Gym while Melanie Balcomb holds a 2-2 record.

Duke’s 96 points were the most Vanderbilt had given up this season and the most since Florida scored 97 in a double-overtime game on December 6, 2011

For the 16th time this season, Christina Foggie led the Commodores in scoring by recording 26 points.

DUKE NOTES

Duke improves to 4-2 against Vanderbilt and is now 2-1 against the Commodores in Memorial Gym. The win gave the Blue Devils a 1-0 advantage over the Commodores in the NCAA Tournament.

Duke has made its 14th regional out of the last 15 years and advances to the Fresno Region.

Duke’s 96 points are the most the team has scored in the NCAA tournament since beating Southern 96-27 in the 2006 First Round

The Blue Devils shot 65.6% (42-64) from the field, the highest percentage Duke has ever recorded in the NCAA Tournament, topping the previous high of 64.7% set against UW-Milwaukee on March 17, 2002.

Two Duke players scored over 20 points (Haley Peters – 25, Tricia Liston – 23) for the first time since the Blue Devils played USC on December 19, 2008.

The Blue Devils went on a 13-0 run mid-way through the first half to take a 42-20 lead with 5:12 remaining.

The 56-32 lead at the half marked the highest first half point total for Duke this season. The Blue Devils shot 67.6% from the field to start the game, the second time they had eclipsed the 65% mark in the first half this year.

Duke’s five starters scored in double digits for the first time since doing so against Pittsburgh on December 5, 2011.

Duke moves to 2-0 when Haley Peters, Elizabeth Williams, Tricia Liston, Shay Selby, and Chelsea Gray start.

Haley Peters scored a career-high 25 points.
