No. 2 Vanderbilt topped Lipscomb on Tuesday at Hawkins Field before dropping a weekend series at No. 15 LSU over the weekend… Ben Bowden notched his fifth save of the season working out of a jam on Tuesday to seal Vanderbilt’s 4-3 win over Lipscomb… Jeren Kendall drove in two runs and Bryan Reynolds had two hits in the win… The Commodores lost 13-4 on Thursday night at LSU in the series opener… Jordan Sheffield was roughed up for a career-high nine runs on seven hits over three innings… Jeren Kendall drove in two runs in the loss… Vandy was edged 3-2 on Friday night with a three-run second inning… Kyle Wright was the tough-luck loser allowing three runs on seven hits over seven innings… Bryan Reynolds had two hits, including a solo homer… Vanderbilt salvaged the Saturday game at LSU 9-7 thanks to a three-run rally in the eighth inning… Two-out singles from Ro Coleman and Tyler Campbell set up Jeren Kendall, who belted a go-ahead, three-run homer… Ben Bowden worked the final two innings to record his sixth save of the year… Patrick Raby picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief… Vanderbilt returns home to host four games this week beginning Tuesday against Middle Tennessee before hosting No. 21 Kentucky for a Friday-Sunday series.
