Kyle Wright, RHP, 6-4, 220, Huntsville, Ala.
Weekly totals: 1G/1GS, W, SHO, 9.0 IP, 3 H, 0R/0ER, 2 BB, 10 K
Wright dominated in his first-ever career shutout, blanking No. 1 Florida on just three hits while matching a career-high with 10 strikeouts.
The sophomore limited the Gators to just three hits while walking two to face just two batters over the minimum.
Wright’s blanking of Florida marked the first time the top-ranked Gators had been shut out this season.
The Huntsville, Ala. native did not allow a runner to reach second base in the victory, stranding four Gators at first base.
Wright becomes the second Vanderbilt pitcher this year to pitch a shutout, joining Jordan Sheffield, who blanked Kentucky earlier this season.
