No. 5 Vanderbilt opened the week with consecutive wins before stumbling in its final two outings … The Commodores red-hot offense was cooled as Vandy batted just .179 in four games … Vanderbilt’s series loss against Georgia was its first in 11 seasons … Right fielder JJ Bleday tied Tuesday’s contest with a ninth-inning home run and provided a two-out game-winning RBI-single in the 10th inning as Vanderbilt walked off Western Kentucky, 5-4 at Hawkins Field … The Commodores mustered little offensively, trailing by a run entering the ninth before Austin Martin smacked a leadoff home run over The Monster and Bleday followed, shooting a solo shot into the right-field bleachers … Senior Ethan Paul connected on a one-out solo home run in the 11th inning, providing the Commodores their first lead of the game while helping lift the squad to a series-opening, 3-2 extra-inning victory against No. 4 Georgia on Friday night at Foley Field … Fellow senior Walker Grisanti unloaded on a one-out, pinch-hit solo home run in the top of the ninth, tying the game at two-all … Vanderbilt failed to muster much offensively as Georgia collected 11 hits and belted a grand slam, evening the three-game series with an 8-3 victory on Saturday afternoon … Vandy’s top-five in the batting order finished 1-for-17 …  Vanderbilt’s offensive struggles carried into Sunday as the Commodores registered just one hit and dropped the first three-game series to Georgia in 11 seasons with a 3-1 loss … Georgia starter Tony Locey (5-0) retired 15 of his final 16 batters, tossing a season-high seven innings … The Dores close their four-game road trip on Tuesday, visiting Middle Tennessee for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch … Vanderbilt returns to Hawkins Field on Friday, opening a three-game series against Arkansas at 7 p.m.
