Commodores Host Alabama in SEC Home Opener
Vanderbilt hosts Alabama this weekend in the Commodore’s SEC Home Opening Series. Below are game promotions for the weekend:

Friday, March 25 ? 6 pm CT Promotions: Southern Rock cover band free pre-game concert from 4-6 pm on the Memorial Gym Plaza behind the left field wall. Giveaway: 500 Gold Shakers will be given away at the Hawkins Field Entry.

Saturday, March 26 ? 2 pm CT ? CSS TV Promotions: Kids Carnival with a face painter on the concourse. Test your pitching skills at the Speed Pitch Machine on the concourse down the third base line. Giveaway: 500 Super Star Saturday Poster featuring Antoan Richardson, Matt Zeller and Tony Mansolino

The Vanderbilt/Alabama Series: ? Alabama leads the all-time series 73-42-2, including a 20-13 record in Nashville. This will be the first meeting between these two teams at Hawkins Field. The last time these two teams met in Nashville was during the 2000 season prior to the Hawkins Field renovations. Alabama won that series, 3-0. ? Last season, the Commodores won the series, 2-1, in Tuscaloosa. Vanderbilt has won the last two series with Alabama owning a 4-2 record in the last six games. ? The series dates back to 1893 and is the sixth oldest in the 106-year history of Vanderbilt baseball. The 117 prior meetings with the Crimson Tide are the seventh-most in school history.
