Vanderbilt’s first Friday night spring game, scheduled for March 25, will be staged in conjunction with a “Dynamite Night” celebration that will include activities for the entire Commodore family.
The Black & Gold Spring Game, which is free of charge to Commodore fans, kicks off at 6 p.m.
An array of family activities will be held outside of Vanderbilt Stadium prior to the Black & Gold Spring Game. Jess Neely Drive between Natchez Trace and 25th Avenue South will accommodate a block party that will include entertainment stages, a kids’ zone for young Commodore fans, tailgate area and more.
Vanderbilt Coach Derek Mason looks forward to fans enjoying a full day of pre-game activities and Commodore football on campus.
“I encourage all Vanderbilt fans to come out March 25 and spend their Friday with the Commodores,” Mason said. “It should be a great time for families who follow our program and want to see some entertaining football. Our guys have been working hard and should put on a great show for the fans.”
Prior to the game, fans can participate in a Select-A-Seat event when they purchase season tickets and pick out seat locations for the upcoming season. Staffers from the National Commodore Club and Athletics Ticket Office will be on hand in the stadium grandstand to answer any questions 2016 season tickets.
The block party activities will begin at 3 p.m. on Jess Neely Drive and McGugin Center.
Free posters for the upcoming season will be distributed to fans entering Gate 2 of the stadium. After the game, a brief autograph session with Commodore players will be held on the Dudley Field playing surface.
