The pair of Vanderbilt men's golfers were selected to the All-SEC second team, while Ben Loomis was named to the SEC community service team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On Friday, the SEC announced Vanderbilt men’s golf senior Jackson Van Paris and junior Wells Williams earned All-SEC second team honors, while junior Ben Loomis was selected to the SEC community service team.

It is the second-straight All-SEC second team selection for Van Paris. It is Williams’ second career All-SEC accolade, as he was named to the All-SEC freshman team in 2022-23. Additionally, Williams was also named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the end of stroke play at the 2025 SEC Men’s Golf Championship. Loomis’ selection to the SEC community service team marked his first career honor received from the conference.

Van Paris becomes the 13th Commodore in program history to earn multiple selections to either the All-SEC first or second teams. The senior has enjoyed a spectacular 2024-25 campaign, as he leads the Commodores in stroke average at 69.87 strokes per round through 10 tournaments. The Pinehurst, North Carolina, native is currently No. 7 in the PGA TOUR University rankings and is No. 10 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Van Paris finished under par in a team-best 17 rounds and carded a season-best 5-under 65 in Round 2 of the SEC Championship. The All-American finished inside the top 10 five times and has collected a top-25 finish in all 10 tournaments. His best 54-hole score of the 2024-25 campaign came at the Mason Rudolph Championship, where he carded a career-low 7-under 206.

Williams is the 19th Vanderbilt men’s golfer to be named to either the All-SEC first or second team, and he is the fourth Dore to be named SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The West Point, Mississippi, native holds a scoring average of 70.43 and has had his score count in all 30 rounds this season. Williams captured a team-best two individual titles this season, both coming during the spring. He first won the 2025 Southwestern Invitational with a three-round total of 5-under 208, then he closed out the regular season by winning the 2025 Mason Rudolph Championship with a score of 15-under 198. The junior’s 54-hole score of 198 at the Mason Rudolph is tied for the fifth-lowest three-round total in program history. Additionally, his 15-under vs. par is also tied for the fifth-lowest 54-hole vs. par score ever posted by a Commodore. Williams’ season-low 18-hole score of 8-under 63 set in Round 1 of the Mason Rudolph tied him for the fifth-lowest single-round total in program history.

Loomis, who is in his third year with the Commodores, has been a leader in organizing community service opportunities at Vanderbilt. He helped lead the team feeding the local community at the Nashville Homeless Shelter. He also spearheaded the team’s Christmas Dancing Dores event, where the team gave gifts to kids at the local elementary school. On the course, the New Canaan, Connecticut, native played in four tournaments, all as an individual. He tied for medalist honors at the 2024 Colonel Shootout, where he carded a career-best 7-under 206.

The Vanderbilt men’s golf team returns to the course next week, as the Commodores will be the No. 3 seed at the 2025 NCAA Amherst Regional. The event takes place Monday-Wednesday at Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst, Virginia.
