Nashville, Tenn. – Back from an historic run at the Little League World Series, the United States champion Goodlettsville team will be honored Thursday night during the Vanderbilt – South Carolina game on ESPN.
The Goodlettsville squad captured Tennessee’s first-ever U.S. championship at the Little League World Series with an amazing win over California last Saturday, outlasting the team from Petaluma, Calif. 24-16 in seven innings. California rallied for 10 runs in the bottom of the last inning to send the game to extra innings. Goodlettsville responded with nine runs in the top of the seventh before shutting down California in the bottom of the inning to claim the U.S. title.
The U.S. champs will be honored during a timeout in the second quarter at midfield.
