Tour De Hawkins is Back

5K for Memories of Honor to take place April 11

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt Athletics will hold the Tour De Hawkins 5K on April 11 as part of Vanderbilt baseball’s Military Appreciation Weekend when the team takes on Oklahoma.

The Tour De Hawkins 5K is meant to honor the nation’s fallen heroes and all who serve. The course will give participants an opportunity to run through several of the athletic facilities on Vanderbilt’s campus including Hawkins Field, the outdoor track and field complex, the Vanderbilt Soccer/Lacrosse complex and other athletics facilities.

All proceeds from the 5K will benefit the Memories of Honor organization. Additionally, each Vanderbilt baseball student-athlete, coach and on-field staff member will wear cleats and/or shoes with the names of fallen service men and women inscribed on the exterior of the footwear all season long.

Memories of Honor is a local non-profit who helps provide comfort, support and a healing community for the forgotten casualties of war: the families.

The deadline to register and receive a shirt in your preferred size is March 18th.
