Tour De Hawkins 5K

Vanderbilt Athletics will hold 5K on April 2

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt Athletics will hold the Tour De Hawkins 5K on April 2 as part of the Vanderbilt baseball’s Military Appreciation Weekend when the team takes on in-state rival Tennessee.

The Tour De Hawkins 5K is meant to honor the nation’s fallen heroes and all who serve. The course will give participants an opportunity to run through several of the athletic facilities on Vanderbilt’s campus including: Hawkins Field, Vanderbilt Stadium, the outdoor track and field complex and the Vanderbilt Soccer/Lacrosse complex.

All proceeds from the 5K will benefit the Memories of Honor organization. This season, the Vanderbilt baseball program partnered with Memories of Honor to help keep the memory alive of United States military members who have passed away. Each Vanderbilt student-athlete, coach and on-field staff member will wear cleats and/or shoes with the names of fallen service men and women inscribed on the exterior of the footwear.

Memories of Honor is a local non-profit who helps provide comfort, support and a healing community for the forgotten casualties of war: the families.
