NASHVILLE, Tenn.– Head coach Geoff Macdonald and associate head coach Aleke Tsoubanos are proud to announce that Christina Rosca has signed her National Letter of Intent to compete for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
“Christina is a great competitor,” said Macdonald. “She’s a superb athlete and we’re impressed that she’s gotten to be one of the best players in the country while taking an extremely challenging course load. She’s won national championships in doubles and is almost a prototype of a perfect Vanderbilt student-athlete; she’s a great student, she’s really good in singles, she’s really good in doubles. We also think she’s going to get really good in college when she begins training fulltime.”
Ranked No. 1 in the State of New Jersey and No. 25 In the nation, Rosca will bring maturity and leadership capabilities to the already talented Commodore squad. As a sophomore Rosca won the state singles title with Princeton High School, and this past January the then-junior won the 2015 USTA Girls’ 18s Winter National Doubles Championship alongside then-partner and UNC freshman Jessie Aney.
“I am very excited and grateful to be a part of the amazing tennis family at Vanderbilt,” said Rosca. “I am thankful that Coaches Macdonald and Tsoubanos have given me the opportunity to be a Commodore and I can’t wait to play my first matches as one next year!”
