  • In the battle of first-place teams in the American Athletic Conference, the No. 20 Vanderbilt lacrosse team heads to Gainesville, Florida, to take on No. 9 Florida for road contests on Friday and Sunday.
  • The Commodores are 11-2 overall and 6-0 in the AAC this season. The 11 wins are tied for the fourth-most in a season in school history. The 11-2 mark is the best record through 13 games in Vanderbilt history.
  • Vanderbilt is riding a nine-game winning streak, which is the second longest in the program’s 26-year history. The school record is 10-consecutive wins set by the 2010 squad.
  • Vanderbilt is 2-10 in the all-time series with Florida. Vandy defeated the Gators twice in 2010 but have since lost 10 in a row in the series.
  • Last time out, Vanderbilt swept a two-game set with Old Dominion at home with wins on April 1 and 3. The sweep was highlighted by a 19-2 senior day win in game two. The two goals were the fewest allowed by Vandy in a conference game in school history.
  • The Commodores are 4-2 in road games this season. The only two losses for Vandy in 2021 have come on the road at No. 1 North Carolina and No. 2 Notre Dame.
  • Vanderbilt is ranked No. 20 in the Inside Lacrosse Top 20 poll and is receiving votes in the US Lacrosse Magazine poll. Florida checks in at No. 9 in the IWLCA Top 25 poll, No. 10 in the Inside Lacrosse poll and No. 10 in the US Lacrosse Magazine poll.
  • Vanderbilt’s offense is headlined by attacker Gabby Fornia. The senior leads the nation with 41 assists this season and was named Inside Lacrosse Mid-Season All-America Honorable Mention.
  • Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper Paige Gunning earned AAC Defensive Player of the Week on April 5 for the second time this season. She leads the nation with 124 saves and has seven games with 10 or more saves.
  • The Commodores are set to close the regular season with home games versus Temple on April 23 and 25.
