MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team went 7-2 in main draw singles action on Sunday, and advanced three to the quarterfinals of the 2013 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships.
Marie Casares, Ashleigh Antal and Georgina Sellyn each won two matches at The Racquet Club of Memphis and will play their quarterfinal matches on Monday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Winners will advance to the semifinals, which will be played at 3:00 p.m., Monday.
Fourteenth-seeded Frances Altick won her first match of the day, 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the round of 16, before falling to No. 26 and top-seeded Nadia Ravita of Kentucky, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.
Sydney Campbell lost her opening match 6-0, 6-2 to Tennessee’s Eve Repic.
