Vanderbilt (5-0) is the No. 6 seed out of the eight total teams competing in Champaign. Texas A&M (6-1) comes in as the No. 3 seed, sitting behind only Oklahoma at No. 2 and North Carolina at No. 1. It is the first matchup between the two programs since last season, where Vandy knocked off the defending champion and No. 2 ranked Aggies 5-2 at home. The black and gold return all but one player from that same roster, and will look for consecutive victories against Texas A&M for the first time since 2017 and 2018.
The Commodores secured qualification into the championship event after downing No. 7 Michigan 4-2 at the ITA Kickoff Weekend final in Ann Arbor. They join 15 other qualifying teams who will compete across a four-day tournament to crown an indoor national champion. The main draw will take place Feb. 6-7 split between Northwestern and Illinois, with the semifinals and championship match hosted by Northwestern Feb. 9-10. Of the 16 total teams, 14 are currently ranked as of Feb. 3. All teams ranked within the top-10 will be competing in the event. Half of the entire field is made up of SEC teams, with four going to each site assignment.

No. 12 Vanderbilt and No. 2 Texas A&M will square off at 9 a.m. on Friday from the Atkins Tennis Center. The advancing team will face the winner of No. 6 Oklahoma and No. 18 Texas.
