Georgina SellynGeorgina Sellyn, a rising star from Scotland who trains in Bradenton, Florida, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play women’s tennis at Vanderbilt University. Sellyn has improved rapidly, making a meteoric rise in the world junior rankings by climbing into the top 200 in the world in less than a year. Coach Geoff Macdonald describes her as “a serious, motivated student-athlete, an exciting player who combines great talent with a fierce work ethic.”

Sellyn, a native of Glasgow, has recently scored some big upsets in international junior tournaments. She represented Great Britain this summer in the European Championships, and is currently in the top four in the Girls rankings in the U.K. According to Coach Macdonald, Sellyn is “a late bloomer who is really coming on. What impressed us most was her love of tennis and her passion to improve. She wants to play professionally after college.”

She is the daughter of Johnny and Yvette Sellyn. Her father was an accomplished soccer player in Scotland.
