NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Three members of the Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will close out their fall at the 26th annual Roberta Alison Fall Classic, this weekend at the Alabama Tennis Stadium, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The ‘Dores will be sending Lauren Mira, Courtney Colton and Maggie Leavell to the two day tournament. The Robert Alison will feature 17 teams, including Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi State of the SEC.

“This will be a great opportunity for us to close out the fall with some good wins,” said assistant coach Aleke Tsoubanos. “Lauren, Courtney and Maggie have all had a few weeks off from competition, so it will be good for them to get out there again a few more times before the fall wraps up.”

The tournament features eight ranked singles players, including Mira, who was listed at No. 51 in the ITA preseason rankings. There are also two ranked doubles teams, No. 6 Colton/Mira are the highest of the two.

Mira has one of the tougher draws, as she faces a potential second round matchup with the highest-ranked singles player in the tournament, No. 7 Yana Koroleva of Clemson. Four of the eight players in Mira’s draw were ranked in the top 55 of the preseason rankings.

Matches each day will start at 9 a.m., and will be held at either the Alabama Tennis Stadium, Alabama Rec Courts and the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility.

There will be one round of doubles on Friday, with two rounds of singles to follow. Saturday will start with two rounds of doubles, followed by the final round of singles.
