Hey Commodore fans,
We’ve had a full few days here in Tulsa. There’s been lots of practicing, time in the hotel, and watching TV or reading. All the teams for both the men’s and women’s draw are here, so it’s a bit packed all over Tulsa, the site, and the host hotel. Tonight we had a banquet to commence everything, and all 32 teams gathered in the University of Tulsa basketball gymnasium where they fed us dinner and a live band cranked out some classic 1980s jams. Nothing like some live entertainment (including a tambourine) to get you ready for the final rounds of an NCAA tournament, I can tell you that much.
The team’s been out on the courts a lot, trying to make sure we all feel good going into tomorrow’s match. We’re anxious to get out there and put it all together, and I’m glad we start Thursday rather than Friday and the wait is over. Having just dodged a near-miss against Kentucky, we are looking to come out swinging, literally I suppose, vs. Florida. They are a really solid team, but I know my teammates and they are pretty amazing tennis players; I think we have a great shot.
We’re the last match on tomorrow, and with rain expected on and off during the day, it could be anytime after 6pm that we go on. Sometimes waiting around can be difficult, but in my opinion we’ll just spend the day getting more and more ready for the night. Let’s hope so! Go `Dores!
Thanks for reading,
Amanda
