Stage Set for SECs

Vanderbilt Track and Field kicks off competition Thursday in SEC Outdoor Championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt Track and Field hits the road to Auburn, Alabama for SEC Outdoor Championships Thursday through Saturday at the Hutsell-Rosen Track.

The Commodores finished the regular season at home, competing in the Music City Challenge. Over the course of the meet, Jayden Hill and Falon Spearman reset their times for the program’s records, with Hill completing the 800 meters in 2:02.62 and Spearman setting her new time of 13.01 in the 100-meter hurdles.

Last year at SEC Outdoors, the Dores contributed seven edits to the program record books, headlined by the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams. Both relays were run by Josie Donelson, Joy Moorer and Allyria McBride while Madyson Wilson contributed in the 4×400. Both races moved up within the top five times in school history. Heptathletes Marta Sivina and Devyn Parham scored points for Vanderbilt, finishing fourth and seventh place.

Looking into the rankings from the regular season, Sivina currently sits 2nd in the SEC with her heptathlon score of 5665, while Lena Gooden sits in 4th with a long jump mark of 6.38 meters. In the South Region, Spearman, Wilson, Gooden and Sivina all have top ten marks in the East Region.
