Vanderbilt readies for Miami Spring Invite

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s tennis will travel to Coral Gables, Florida, to make their spring season debut by competing in the Miami Spring Invite beginning Saturday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

Vanderbilt enters the invite as the 10th-ranked team in the nation according to the Oracle/ITA preseason rankings.

As a team, the Commodores last competed in the annual June Stewart invitational where they earned 10 victories to mark their fall home debut.

Hosted by Miami, Vanderbilt will be joined in the invite by Oklahoma and Northwestern.

Vanderbilt is set to open the invite by taking on Oklahoma in doubles at 8 a.m. CT Saturday followed by concluding day one with singles play against Northwestern.

The Commodores kick off the 2020 season with two ranked singles players and a ranked doubles pair.

Sophomore Georgia Drummy leads the Dores at No. 22 in the nation and enters the spring season undefeated in singles play (3-0.) Senior Christina Rosca comes in at No. 32 to begin her final spring season as a Commodore.

Drummy and Rosca pair up to earn the No. 12 spot in the doubles rankings. The tandem will make their spring debut after earning a 5-5 fall record including an upset over the No. 1 duo in the nation.

Doubles play will begin at 8 a.m. CT Saturday.
