His personal road in our program has been `choppy[apos] at times because of injuries, but it has never deterred his personality, attitude and effort. His offensive game has components of strength and speed and he continues to grow into a productive outfielder as well.

2014 – Entered as a pinch runner and scored the tying run in win vs. Oregon 6/1 in NCAA Regional championship game… Went 0-for-1 off the bench vs. Xavier 5/30 in NCAA Regional… Struck out in his only at-bat vs. Georgia 4/25… Singled and scored in win over MTSU 4/15… Drew the start in left field going 0-for-3 at Tennessee 4/6… Started as the DH and leadoff hitter vs. UT-Martin going 1-for-4 with a double… Entered as a pinch runner and scored a run against Kentucky 3/29… Picked up an infield single in loss at Mississippi State 3/21… Popped up as a pinch hitter at Belmont 3/18… Scored a run after reaching on an error in win over Eastern Illinois 3/11… Started in left field going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts vs. Winthrop 3/7… Went 0-for-1 against WKU 2/25… Hit by a pitch in his lone plate appearance in win over UIC 2/23… Drove in a run with his first hit of the season, a single, against UIC 2/21… Earned the Opening Day start in LF going 0-for-2 at Long Beach State 2/14.

ACADEMICS – Cooper is majoring in financial strategy and was a SEC Academic Honor selection as a freshman and sophomore.

PERSONAL – William Tanner Cooper… Born 3/11/92… Son of Todd and Stacy Cooper… Has two younger siblings, Jackson and Brett… Nickname is Coop… Favorites include Craig Kimbrel (baseball player), Atlanta Braves (baseball team), football (other sport), Green Mile, Back to the Future, Casino Royale (movies), Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts (actor/actress), BBQ (meal), cereal (late night snack)… Would be a sports broadcaster if he was not an athlete… Says Michael J. Fox would play him in a movie… Motivated is the one word that describes himself… Roommates with Luke Stephenson, Luke Gude and Will Hinson… Chose Vanderbilt for the great combination of academics and athletics.
