Coach Corbin Quote: Corey has made great strides after suffering a devastating mid-season injury. He rehabilitated his knee over the summer and ended up pitching very well for us this fall. Corey will be a very important part of our bullpen – he can be utilized in many roles because of his pitchability. He could eventually end up starting some ball games for us as well.
2011: Turned in his longest relief outing of the year with three innings at Auburn 4/1… Pitched 1.1 scoreless innings at Arkansas 3/27… Gave up two runs on one hit and two walks over 2.1 innings against Mississippi State 3/20… Recorded two outs against Mississippi State 3/18… Allowed one run on two hits over two innings against UIC 3/11… Pitched two scoreless innings striking out three in win over Wofford 3/8… Earned his first save of the year striking out two in one inning against Brown 3/6… Started for the first time in 2011 against Western Kentucky 3/1, roughed up for a career-high five runs on five hits over a career-long 3.1 innings… Tossed two perfect innings against Belmont 2/23… Allowed one run on one hit with two strikeouts at SDSU 2/19, first game since knee injury ended 2010 season.
2010: Went 1-0 with a 2.65 ERA in 12 apperances out of the bullpen, before missing the remainder of the season after breaking kneecap on a liner against Florida on April 3… Struck out 17 and walked six in 17 innings of work on the year… Allowed one run on two hits with two walks before breaking his kneecap on a line drive up the middle in Saturday game of Florida series (4/3)…Williams made an unbelievable play by somehow still throwing the runner out at first base despite not being able to move any part of his legs while laying on the ground. Williams[apos] extraordinary play has been viewed over 435,000 times on youtube… Threw one inning of relief against Wofford, allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts (3/30)… Threw one-inning of one-hit scoreless relief in series finale with Kentucky (2/27)… Struck out two and walked one in two innings of one-hit scoreless relief in Friday game against Kentucky (3/26)… Earned first save of career after throwing a season-high three innings against Lipscomb (3/23), allowing no runs and no hits with four strikeouts and two walks… Threw two innings of one-hit scoreless relief at Western Kentucky (3/17)… Threw two innings of one-hit scoreless relief against Ohio (3/14)… Threw two innings of no-hit scoreless relief against Southern California in Dodgertown Classic (2/27)… Made first collegiate appearance in season opening series against Niagara, striking out two in one inning of scoreless relief (2/20).

High School: Was named 2007-08 All-Metro Team and All-Metro Pitcher of the Year by the Huntsville Times, and All-State 3A Pitcher of the Year… Participated in the 2007 East Coast Professional Showcase and National Showcase and 2006-07 Alabama Baseball Coaches Association Top 100 Showcase participant… Also played for the 2007-08 ASWA All-State Baseball Team, East Cobb Braves, Atlanta Braves Scout Team, and Tennessee Valley Eagles… Holds the Madison Academy record for most strikeouts and innings pitched… Was a four-year letterwinner, starter and captain his senior year in baseball, and senior year letterwinner his senior year in cross-country.
