Today, we woke up at 4:00 am and left for the train station at 4:45 am to head to the Tsujiki Fish Market. Seeing the fish market was one of my favorite parts of the day, especially getting to see how big the fish actually were. Some of the tuna there sold for $10,000. I also learned that around $20 million worth of fish is bought and sold every day at the market, so it was cool to get to see everything for the time that we were allowed to be there.

After we walked around the market, we went to a sushi place nearby to have sushi for breakfast which was definitely a cultural experience. Most of the sushi we ate was the kind where the fish is on top of the rice, which is different than a lot of what you see back home.

After breakfast, we went to the Tokyo Zoo and then had a chance to have some of the best ramen noodles I’ve ever had for our pre-game meal. Although we were a little rusty, I thought tonight’s game was fun and competitive. It’s always fun to play against other cultures and watch how they play versus how we play. It was also great to get to bond with the other team and really have a chance to enjoy the experience.
