Nashville — Vanderbilt head basketball coach Melanie Balcomb announced on Wednesday afternoon the signing of twin sisters Khaléann & Audrey-Ann Caron-Goudreau to National Letters of Intent to play for the Commodores.
The signing of the nationally-ranked sisters from Canada gives Vanderbilt fans two more reasons to celebrate on a memorable Signing Day that has featured one of the most heralded classes in Commodore history. The twins complete the Commodores’ class of 2014, which also includes Paris Kea, Christa Reed and Rachel Bell.
Currently, Vanderbilt’s 2014 recruiting class is ranked No. 9 nationally by Blue Star Report and ProspectsNation.com and No. 14 by ESPN HoopGurlz.
The Caron-Goudreau sisters, natives of Gatineau, Quebec, are 6-3 forwards from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. As would be expected, they compliment each other and feed off the other’s abilities while forming a powerful 1-2 punch.
Balcomb is excited to see what the sisters can do when they wear the black-and-gold next season.
“Khaléann and Audrey are two of the most versatile 6-foot-3 players in the country,” said Balcomb. “With our up-tempo game, both will be outstanding additions because each of them loves to run the floor and use their athleticism in transition.
“Khaléann and Audrey have excellent face-up games, and they will fit extremely well into our offense. It will be exciting to have them on the floor together in a Vanderbilt uniform.”
Combining for 30 points per game last season — with Audrey-Ann averaging 15.4 and Khaléann adding 14.9 — they helped IMG Academy roll up an impressive 42-8 record under head coach Shell Dailey.
Prior to joining IMG, the twins were selected as members of Canada’s U-17 Women’s National Team after helping the SSF Blizzard to the Canadian Juvenile-AAA State Championship.
Next season, the sisters are looking to continue their winning ways at Vanderbilt.
“I am really excited about the class I will be coming in with and the other players I will be playing with at Vanderbilt,” said Khaléann. “I can see myself winning a championship with this team.”
Audrey-Ann shares in her sister’s enthusiasm about being a Commodore.
“I feel I am prepared for college as far as practices and competition because of my last two years at IMG,” she said.

She loves the physical part of the game and competes at an extremely high level on both ends of the floor..”
STRAIGHT FROM AUDREY-ANN: (On why she choose Vanderbilt) “The environment at Vanderbilt. I love the team and I like the chemistry they have with one another on the court. The academics were also a big part of my decision and what a Vanderbilt degree can do for me after basketball.”
(On playing in the SEC) “I am really excited about the future but nervous at the same time, which I think is normal. I am really lucky to have a chance to play in the SEC because I will face great competition each night.”
