SEC Announces First-Year Academic Honor Roll

Vanderbilt with 48 student-athletes selected for academic excellence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Forty-eight of Vanderbilt’s student-athletes were named to the 2021-22 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll on Thursday, commissioner Greg Sankey announced.

Vanderbilt lacrosse team led the Commodores’ honorees with a total of nine selections as women’s cross country and soccer garnered six student-athletes respectively. Men’s basketball, football and swimming each tallied four on the list. The women’s basketball (3), men’s cross country (3), women’s tennis (3), baseball (2), men’s golf (2), and women’s track & field (2) programs also contributed to Vandy’s count.

The First‐Year SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2021‐22 academic calendar. Any student‐athlete who participates in a Southeastern Conference championship sport or a student‐athlete who participates in a sport listed on his/her institution’s NCAA Sports Sponsorship Form is eligible for nomination to the Academic Honor Roll. First year student‐athletes in all sports may be named to the Honor Roll at the conclusion of their first full academic year in residence (spring, fall and summer terms).
