SEBaseball.com Picks Vanderbilt To Finish Third in SEC Eastern Division Sowers selected as Most Outstanding Player
SEBaseball.com has picked Vanderbilt to finish third in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division. South Carolina is picked to finish first with Florida second. LSU is the top pick in the West, followed by Alabama and Ole Miss.
Four Commodores were selected to the SEBaseball All-SEC Team. Junior shortstop Ryan Klosterman and junior left-handed pitcher Jeremy Sowers were named to the first team, while sophomore Warner Jones (IF/OF) earned second team honors and senior infielder Cesar Nicolas was selected to the third team. Ryan Mullins (So., LHP) and Jensen Lewis (So., RHP) were selected to the honorable mention team. Sowers was selected as the league’s most outstanding player, the team’s most valuable player and one of the 12 best pro prospects in the league (2004 draft eligible players only).
Freshman outfielder Aaron Garza was selected as one of 12 newcomers to watch with junior infielder Tony Mansolino was named as one of 12 improved players to watch.
