Played in 11 of 12 games… Earned first career start at wide receiver against Tennessee… Finished season at Commodores[apos] fifth leading receiver with 12 catches, good for 99 yards… Also was effective as a blocker from the wideout position… Produced three receptions against Rice, Ole Miss and Tennessee… Set single-game high in receiving yards (36) in win over Rice… Entered season without a career reception.
2008
Wimberly earned playing time in 10 games, primarily on special teams… Did not register a reception, but contributed one tackle on coverage units.
2007
Moved to wide receiver prior to season, but did not see game action… Named team[apos]s Offensive Scout of the Week after Tennessee game.
2006
Did not see action as a freshman… Moved to practice squad quarterback after starting preseason camp in defensive secondary.
High School
Played quarterback and safety at prestigious New Jersey prep school, earning Prep Player of the Year honors from Trenton (N.J.) Times… Earned three varsity letters at Westlake, helping Chaparrals to state semifinals in 2003 and district title in 2004, compiling more than 2,100 yards of total offense… Voted MVP by Westlake teammates… Was standout centerfielder at Westlake.
