Senior offensive co-captain who put together his best season in Commodore uniform in his final year… Played in every game, earning starts at wide receiver in eight games… Formed an excellent veteran wide receiver trio with fellow seniors C.J. Duncan and Caleb Scott… Finished the year as the team leader with career-high 729 receiving yards… Ranked second on team with 50 catches and five touchdown catches… Registered at least two catches in every game and at least 65 receiving yards in seven games… 14.6 yards per catch was highest of his career… Contributed four catches in each of team’s early-season wins against Middle Tennessee, Alabama A&M and Kansas State… Had season high of 97 receiving yards against Kansas State… Hauled in four or more passes in last five appearances, including two touchdowns among six catches in win over Tennessee… Also served as rushing weapon, gaining 92 yards on eight reverses… Longest rush was 45-yard touchdown carry against Middle Tennessee… Sherfield ended his career with 27 starts in 48 appearances, accumulating 136 receptions, 1,869 yards and nine touchdown catches… Ranks No. 8 all-time among Commodores in receptions and receiving yards.
2016
Sherfield concluded his third season in a Commodore uniform on a high note, enjoying a tremendous performance in Vanderbilt’s decisive victory over Tennessee… A seven-game starter who played in every contest, Sherfield finished the season second on the team with 472 receiving yards.. His 34 receptions also ranked second on the team… He also had 7 rushes for 97 yards, including a 45-yard gain vs. NC State in the Camping World Independence Bowl… Sherfield posted a season-high nine catches, good for 184 yards, in the win over Tennessee. The receiving yardage total is tied for the 10th highest in team history… The UT performance included a career-long 76-yard catch that led to Vanderbilt’s third score… One week earlier, Sherfield had a 67-yard reception in the Commodores’ victory over Ole Miss.
2015
Sherfield became the Commodores’ top receiving target in his second year on campus… Started every game at wide receiver… Finished the year with team highs of 51 receptions, 659 receiving yards and three touchdowns… Rushed for 55 yards on four reverses… Produced arguably the greatest game ever by a Commodore receiver in win over Austin Peay, setting a team record with 240 receiving yards on 16 catches… Reception total vs. Austin Peay ranks as third highest in team history… Hauled in seven catches at Ole Miss, six in win at Middle Tennessee, and six in finale at Tennessee… Registered rushes of 34 yards against Middle Tennessee and 17 yards at Florida.
2014
Sherfield played in seven games, and was one of two true freshmen to see action at wide receiver… Ended the year with one reception and three rush attempts… Nine-yard catch came at Missouri… First career rush resulted in 25-yard carry vs. South Carolina… Posted two rushes for 15 yards in victory over Old Dominion.
