2016
As a fourth-year Commodore, Banks played in 11 games, serving as a serve safety and special teams contributor… Concluded the season with one solo tackle… Missed early season games against Middle Tennessee and Georgia Tech… Became a valuable member of team’s special team coverage units as season endured.
2015
Injuries limited Banks’ production as a third-year contributor… After seeing action in six early-season games, Banks moved from safety to running back only to miss the final six games to injury… Contributed four total tackles – all coming against Georgia – as safety and special teams player.
2014
Banks saw action in all 12 games as a first-year contributor… Participated on special teams and as reserve safety… Registered solo tackles against Missouri and Mississippi State.
2013
Banks did not see game action as a true freshman… He served as a valuable defensive back on scout teams, and worked hard to build strength and quickness during the fall.
High School
Senior captain… Four-year starter for large public school located in south Chicago suburb… As senior DB, posted 60 tackles, three INTs and four forced fumbles for 8-3 squad that advanced to state playoffs… Named All-State by both state coaches’ and Chicago Tribune… As junior, contributed four INTs, three fumble recoveries to go with 55 tackles… Started at WR as freshman, moving to safety as sophomore… During career, registered 156 tackles, 10 INTs and 23 pass breakups.

Jalen Aaron Banks… Majoring in Communication Studies… Son of Frederick Banks and Amani Wesley… Born Sept. 10, 1994… Younger brother, Jauan, is starting WR at school, which has produced many stars, including former Steelers’ WR Antwaan Randle El… Participates in Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization in hometown.
