He will be a leader on our pitching staff as a sophomore, and we will rely on him in a significant way. Austin was an Omaha Challenge winner for the Pitchers, which speaks to the fitness commitment he made over the summer and continues to grow in. He has a maturity beyond his years — serious about what he is doing, self-driven, and low maintenance. You know exactly what you are getting from him in every facet of campus life. He holds high expectations for himself both on and off the field and continues to excel academically.”

• NCBWA Second Team All-America
• Posted a 3.55 ERA and 2-1 record over 15 starts
• Worked 50.2 innings as a freshman, totaling 58 strikeouts
• Held #17 Ole Miss to one run on two hits over 4.2 innings in SEC Championship game (May 25)
• Went 5.0 innings at #20 Louisville (May 6), allowing two runs while striking out five
• Held Lipscomb (April 15) to two runs on six hits over 5.0 innings while striking out six
