NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt lacrosse head coach Beth Hewitt today announced the recipient of the 2024 Robert Nesi Super Fan Award is Ricky Thrash, Associate Athletic Director Enrollment and Transition at Vanderbilt Athletics.
“He means so much to our program,” said Hewitt. “Ricky does absolutely everything for us behind the scenes. He supports the girls, the team, the coaching staff and our support staff. He is somebody that might go unnoticed but he brings a smile to everybody’s face when they see him walking in the halls.”
About The Award
The Robert Nesi Award was established in 2020 to celebrate people who significantly contribute to the program and support student-athletes on and off the field. The award is named in memory of Robert Nesi, the late father of former Vanderbilt lacrosse standout Gabby Nesi.
Nesi’s unconditional love for his daughter and everyone he interacted with was evident through his personality.
“They called me over at the end of practice and told me that they didn’t need me to hype them up, it was the reverse. They were going to hype me up and that is what got me,” Thrash recalled on the moment found out he was this year’s recipient.
