NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt lacrosse head coach Beth Hewitt today announced the recipient of the 2023 Robert Nesi Super Fan Award is Randy Gross, father of fifth-year midfielder Bri Gross.
“Randy Gross is the perfect recipient for this award because he is 100 percent supportive of Bri and the program, traveling far and wide to see his daughter,” said Hewitt. “When you just look at his face and see how happy he is to see his daughter playing, to me, it’s everything that this award is about.”
About The Award
The Robert Nesi award was established in 2020 to celebrate people who significantly contribute to the program and support student-athletes on and off the field. The award is named in memory of Robert Nesi, the late father of former Vanderbilt lacrosse standout Gabby Nesi.
Nesi’s unconditional love for his daughter and everyone he interacted with was evident through his personality.
“To be voted the super fan was quite the surprise and I’m super honored to be a part of it. Being able to witness the things that I’ve seen in my daughter grow, I’ll cherish it for the rest of my life,” said Gross.
