Putman Named Conference Freshman of the Year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The American Conference announced its end-of-season awards on Wednesday afternoon, highlighted by Vanderbilt lacrosse midfielder Gabby Putman who was named Freshman of the Year.

Putman was also voted first-team all-conference, while Brooke Baker, Alex Gladding, Shea Panzik and Anna Taraboletti were named to the second team.

Putman closed the regular season with nine conference honors, including eight over the final eight weeks. A native of Cicero, New York, she surpassed 100 draw controls on the season, becoming the first Commodore to reach the mark in a single year. Putman also set multiple program records this spring, including for game and season draw controls. The midfielder started all 17 contests in her rookie campaign, totaling 14 goals and five assists for 19 points, along with 102 draw controls, 20 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.

Baker started all 17 games, finishing with 20 goals and five assists for 25 points during her final season. Gladding, a junior defender, finished with a team-high 28 caused turnovers while picking up a team-best 33 ground balls. She scored her second career goal during the 2026 campaign and picked up three draw controls also.

Panzik led the Dores with 46 points off a team-high 25 goals and 21 assists in 17 games. The sophomore grabbed 11 ground balls and caused four turnovers. Taraboletti finished the 2026 season with 18 goals and five assists for 23 points, caused 18 turnovers, grabbed 12 ground balls and won five draw controls.
