  • Captains Richie Hoskins, Diego Pavia and CJ Taylor represented the Commodores at midfield for the coin toss. Georgia State won the toss and deferred

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

  • Bryan Longwell and Aeneas DiCosmo combined on a sack for a loss of 14 yards at Georgia State’s 35. This marked a career first for Longwell and Vanderbilt-first for DiCosmo
  • Longwell then grabbed the first interception of his career for a seven-yard return, forcing the first pick from Georgia State’s Christian Veilleux this season
  • Eli Stowers led the offense with a career-high nine catches, the most by any Commodore this season. Stowers finished with a career-high 110 receiving yards and his first touchdown in black and gold. Stowers touchdown catch was the third of his career and his 110 receiving yards marks the first 100+ yard game of his career
  • Diego Pavia found AJ Newberry downfield for a 53-yard completion, the longest of the season thus far and Newberry’s first reception of his career
  • Newberry then rushed for a 3-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, marking his second career touchdown
  • Pavia tallied season-highs in completions (18) and passing yards (270)
  • Brock Taylor connected on a 28-yard field goal to get Vanderbilt on the board in the first quarter, opening the scoring in every game so far this season
  • Randon Fontenette led the defense for the first time this season with a career-high tying eight tackles
  • Kolbey Taylor and Langston Patterson each tallied seven tackles
  • Taylor’s seven tackles marked a career-high, topping his previous best of six
  • Junior Sherrill posted his fourth career touchdown reception, the first of this season, off an 8-yard pass from Pavia
  • Running back Sedrick Alexander tallied his third touchdown of the season, one in each game, finishing with 11 rushing attempts for 42 yards
  • Freshman Glenn Seabrooks III made a career-best six tackles, doubling his previous single-game high. Seabrooks III also added one tackle for loss, the first of his career
  • De’Marion Thomas registered a career-best four tackles
