The last the Rebels accomplished that feat was in 2006 versus the LSU Tigers.Ole Miss CF Michael Guerrero hit two runs in today’s game, giving him the tournament lead with four.Ole Miss has hit a homerun in every game they have played in this year’s tournament.Ole Miss RF Jordan Henry went for 4-for-5 with a run and an RBI. He is currently 10-for-16 in this year’s tournament, giving him the tournament lead for most hits.Ole Miss 1B Matt Smith hit his 14th homerun of the season. He now holds the school’s freshman home run record.Vanderbilt relief pitcher Steven Schwartz struck out a career high nine batters in 4.1 innings of work.Vanderbilt 3B Pedro Alvarez hit his 9th homerun of the season. It was the 49th of his career, tying him with Scotti Madison for the most homeruns in Vanderbilt history.Vanderbilt SS Ryan Flaherty went 3-for-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Commodore 1B Andrew Giobbi went 2-for-4 with a run and 2 RBI.Vanderbilt is now eliminated from the SEC Tournament, making it the 5th straight year that the defending tournament champion has failed to advance to the championship game in the next season.Ole Miss and LSU’s matchup will mark the 8th time that two teams from the same division have played for the tournament championship.Ole Miss advances to the SEC Tournament Championship for the third time in the last four years.
