First Half Notes:
– With Jermaine Beal’s three-pointer at the 17:30 mark in the first half Vanderbilt extends its streak of consecutive games (699) with a three-pointer, dating back to when the three-point line was established in the 1986-87 season. The Commodores streak ranks second only to UNLV (703) for the longest streak in Division I basketball.
Brad Tinsley scored his first points of his collegiate career by sinking a running floater in the lane at the 13:49 mark.
Lance Goulbourne drilled a three-pointer from the top of the key with 12:15 remaining in the first half for his first points of his career.
Jeffery Taylor’s running lay-in with 8:14 gave him his first points of his Vanderbilt career.
– Beal sparked the offense by scoring five consecutive points in a span of just 15 seconds with an unconventional three-point play and steal for a dunk. Beal’s three-point play gave Vanderbilt its second lead of the game with 9:10 remaining.
– After being down 13-10, Vanderbilt went on a 9-0 run to go up 19-13 with eight minutes remaining.

– Tinsley’s third three-point basket with 11:32 remaining gave Vanderbilt an 18-point advantage (54-36).
– Vanderbilt extended its lead to 23 with an A.J. Ogilvy lay-in with 8:57 remaining.
– Leading 31-27 with 19:30 to play, Vanderbilt went on an 11-2 run to push their lead to 42-29.
– Vanderbilt put the game away with a 15-2 run to go up 63-38 with 7:54 remaining.
– Goulbourne’s three-point basket with 2:43 remaining gave Vanderbilt a 26-point lead (71-45), its largest lead of the game.

Postgame Notes:
– Vanderbilt has now won 20 straight games at Memorial Gymnasium. The `Dores went a perfect 19-0 at home last season.
