NEW YORK – The Vanderbilt women’s basketball senior Justine Pissott was selected by the Indiana Fever in the second round of the 2026 WNBA Draft, as she was the 25th overall pick on Monday night.
Pissott was selected as the 10th pick in the second round by the Fever and was the 25th overall selection in the 2026 WNBA Draft. She is the first Vanderbilt player to be drafted into the WNBA under fifth-year Commodore head coach Shea Ralph. Overall, Pissott is the 14th Vanderbilt player to be selected in a WNBA Draft. Her selection marks the first time since the 2014 WNBA Draft that a Vanderbilt women’s basketball player has had her name called, as Christina Foggie was picked by the Minnesota Lynx in the second round as the 24th overall pick.
Pissott was a three-year member of the Vanderbilt women’s basketball team, having joined the program after spending her freshman season at Tennessee. The Toms River, New Jersey, native played in 90 games with 62 starts with the Commodores. She averaged 7.6 points while holding a 40.0 percent 3-point field goal percentage at Vandy. Pissott had a career year in 2025-26, as a senior, putting up 11.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.9 blocks per game, all career-bests. Her 95 made 3-pointers this season tied Vanderbilt’s single-season 3-point field goals made record, while her career 3-point percentage of 40.0 percent at Vanderbilt ranks ninth-best in school history. Her career-high seven 3-pointers made against Texas Southern on Dec. 20 is tied for the fifth-most made in a game in Vanderbilt history.
Pissott is one of two Commodore alums to get added to a WNBA roster this week. Mariella Fasoula, who played two seasons for Vanderbilt from 2018-20, signed a training camp contract with the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday. The 6-3 post player started in all 60 games she played in the Black and Gold, averaging 14.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. She was named second-team All-SEC as a junior in 2018-19. Currently, Fasoula is averaging 18.9 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 48.8 percent from the floor for Beşiktaş BOA in eight games of EuroCup competition. A native of Greece, Fasoula appeared in six games for her home country at the 2027 FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers, leading all players with 21.7 points per game.
