Steve Green’s Photos | Vanderbilt CWS Central
It is the eve of the College World Series and the buzz around Omaha and TD Ameritrade Park continues to intensify. The teams are all here, and the majority of fans and media have arrived. Street vendors are out in full force and CWS Fan Fest opened at 11 a.m.
Friday is the official opening celebration. Every team has its picture taken in front of the Road to Omaha statue, has an open practice at TD Ameritrade Park and fulfills its media obligations before returning for Opening Ceremonies Friday evening.
The sun has been out throughout the entire day with temperatures in the mid 80s despite there being a 35 percent chance of rain as of this morning.
Vanderbilt’s day began with a team photo shoot in front of the Road to Omaha statue at 9 a.m. Following its team photo the players headed up to the suite level where they each had an individual JumboTron video shoot. After the video shoot, select players had interviews with the ESPN production staff.
At 10 a.m., the Commodores took the field for their open practice at TD Ameritrade Park. The team concluded their day at the ballpark by signing autographs on the concourse of the stadium. Vanderbilt’s autograph line stretched as far back as 150 yards as fans waited to get autographs from the Commodores.
Vanderbilt photographer Steve Green was in attendance for all of the team’s activities and got these photos.
