NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia has been named to the Davey O’Brien Award QB Class of 2024.
Pavia is one of 35 FBS quarterbacks named to the list, which now comprises the official candidates for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award.
The Albuquerque, New Mexico, native enters Saturday’s game at Auburn third in the SEC in passing efficiency and leads conference quarterbacks in rushing yards. He’s led the Commodores to a 5-3 mark, including a 40-35 win over then-No. 1 Alabama on Oct. 5. He was named the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week and took home his second SEC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the year for the win over the Tide.
Pavia is a team captain and has been selected to the watch lists for the Manning Award and Maxwell Award. Before transferring to Vanderbilt, he was the 2023 Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year at New Mexico State.
The Commodores return to action Saturday at Auburn, with kickoff set for 11:45 a.m. CT on SEC Network and 94.9 The Fan. The Dores return home on Nov. 9 to host South Carolina at 3:15 p.m. and tickets remain available.
