Vanderbilt women's tennis eyes three-match win streak at Ole Miss on Sunday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — No. 16 Vanderbilt women’s tennis begins a three-match road trip in Oxford on Sunday, taking on Ole Miss in an effort to produce its third straight win.

The Dores own a 22-5 record against the Rebels since 2002, having won the last three meetings. Vanderbilt vaulted its way to fourth in the SEC standings after yesterday’s Tiger takedown. No. 56-ranked sophomore Valeria Ray picked up her conference-leading 28th total singles victory; she also leads in dual match singles wins with 15. Despite yesterday’s doubles loss, which snapped a 10-match win streak, No. 14-ranked senior Celia-Belle Mohr and freshman Sophia Webster remain the top Commodore duo with 18 wins, four of which are ranked victories. Vandy is 6-1 against opponents currently ranked outside of the ITA top 25.

Ole Miss comes into Sunday’s matchup ninth in the SEC standings. The Rebels are winners of consecutive matches, including a 4-2 defeat of No. 13 Texas in Austin; the Longhorns downed Vanderbilt 4-3 earlier this month. Ludmila Kareisová and Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher represent Ole Miss in the ITA doubles rankings at No. 71. The pair are 17-9 in total this season and have notched four ranked wins. Kareisová is the Rebels singles win leader with a 16-9 overall record thus far.
