NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 28 Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will look to snap its four-match losing streak this weekend on the road against No. 65 Arkansas and against Missouri.
The Commodores head into the weekend 2-4 in SEC play, with its most recent losses coming to No. 19 Florida and No. 26 South Carolina. In the latest ITA rankings, Vanderbilt had three singles players in the top 100: Celia-Belle Mohr at No. 46, Bridget Stammel at No. 82 and Anna Ross at No. 88. For the first time this season, Mohr and Marcella Cruz earned a No. 58 ranking in doubles.
The Razorbacks are also 2-4 in conference play. After going 0-4 at the beginning of SEC play, Arkansas was able to pick up victories over Ole Miss and Mississippi State. The team had two players ranked among the top 85, as well as one doubles pairing ranked in the top 25.
The Tigers are 1-5 in conference play and 9-2 overall at home. Last weekend, Missouri won its match against Mississippi State but fell to Ole Miss. The Tigers have one ranked singles player among the top 75 nationally.
The Commodores are 26-6 overall against Arkansas; they will face off at 4 p.m. CT on Friday. Then, Vanderbilt will work to improve to 10-0 against Missouri at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday.
