Vanderbilt’s College World Series central | Omaha on our mind, June 13
The field for the 2011 College World Series became official Monday night with Texas A&M’s win over Florida State. Top-seeded Virginia also secured its spot in the CWS with its win over UC Irvine on Monday. Here is the complete schedule for the tournament.

Well if you haven’t checked Vanderbilt’s College World Series central or vucommodores.com Tuesday, you’ve missed a few tidbits of note.
– Aaron Westlake became the first Commodore to belt three home runs in the same game since 1991. See his home runs here
– Nashville Corner Pub locations will host a watch party on Saturday during Van
derbilt’s CWS opener.
– Fans wanting to send-off the team to Omaha can still do so, but they had better wake up early. The team will depart at approximately 6:15 a.m. Thursday from the Parmer Field House.
– Vanderbilt’ team hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn downtown Omaha. Fans are invited to attend a pep rally/send-off approximately four hours before every game. Saturday’s send-off will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn.

George W. Bush Throwing Out First Pitch
The Omaha World-Herald confirmed on Tuesday that former president George W. Bush will be making an appearance at the CWS and plans on throwing out the first pitch.
