The Obstacle Course was the only thing standing between the Commodores and the end of the Omaha Challenge last week.
The Course began with a pair of 50-pound kettle bells, carrying them across the football field and back followed by tossing a 30-pound sand bag from sideline to sideline. Pushing a sled from the top position to one sideline and from the bottom position back to other sideline led into a sprint up the stadium stairs to the finish line.
Will Toffey took the top spot among the position players, finishing the course in 3:32 while Jordan Sheffield cruised to victory in the pitchers’ competition with a time of 3:52.
Sheffield’s victory in the Obstacle Course capped an impressive overall victory that saw win five of the 11 total events among the pitchers. Sheffield has now won back-to-back Omaha Challenge titles headed into this third season. Penn Murfee claimed the overall title by finishing in the top five of five events and in the top 10 of nine events.
Team Smith, led by senior Kyle Smith, ran away with the team title ahead of Team Stone, Team Campbell and Team Johnson.
