Odeyingbo Named All-SEC

Senior defensive end earns all-league honors for Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Senior defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo was named to the All-SEC second team, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

Odeyingbo, a native of Irving, Texas, started the first eight games of the season before missing the finale. He finished with 32 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, nine quarterback pressures and one pass breakup. Odeyingbo paced the team in tackles for loss, sacks and quarterback pressures.

He booked a season-high seven tackles in the season opener at No. 10 Texas A&M and added six in the home opener against No. 20 LSU.

A medicine, health and society major, Odeyingbo finished tied for 10th in the SEC in tackles for loss and tied for sixth in sacks. He closed his career with 31.0 tackles for loss, the fifth most in program history.

Odeyingbo will take part in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Jan. 30 in Mobile, Alabama. The game will be televised on NFL Network with a 1:30 p.m. CT kick.
