Friday’s match will feature two top-15 teams.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The sixth-ranked Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will play host to 13th-ranked Clemson on Friday, Feb. 20, inside the Brownlee O. Currey Jr. Tennis Center at 2:30 p.m. CT. The Tigers are the fourth top-15 opponent that the Commodores have faced in the last month.

Vanderbilt (7-1) already has posted a pair of wins this season against top-15 competition. The Dores shut out then-No. 4 Duke in Nashville last month, 7-0, and defeated then-No. 11 UCLA at the National Team Indoor Championships in Madison, Wis., 5-2.

The Tigers’ (4-0) most recent win came against No. 14 Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday. Clemson is led by ninth-ranked Julie Coin, who headlines a trio of ranked student-athletes. The Tigers also feature three ranked doubles teams.

Vanderbilt counters with the second-ranked doubles team in the nation, the senior pairing of Kelly Schmandt and Aleke Tsoubanos. The duo of juniors Audra Falk and Annie Menees also find themselves in the ITA rankings, at No. 28. Falk is the Commodores’ top singles player; she is currently ranked No. 39.

Action continues throughout the weekend at the Currey Tennis Center, with No. 68 Iowa joining the fun. The Hawkeyes will take on Clemson on Saturday at 11 a.m. and then face the homestanding Commodores on Sunday at Noon. Admission is free to all matches.
