VUCommodores.com returns with a look at Week Four action in the National Football League. We’ll begin where the week ended, with the Bears and Cowboys on Monday night.

The quartet of Commodores playing for the Bears were part of Monday Night Football, registering a big win against the Dallas Cowboys.

Defense was the story of the game, with the Bears intercepting Dallas QB Tony Romo five times, including one by former Vanderbilt defensive back D.J. Moore. The pick came in the fourth quarter as the Bears were trying to put the game away.

Moore added 10 tackles (nine solo) and a pass defense.

Offensively, QB Jay Cutler was rock solid for the Bears. The former Commodore was 18-24 passing for 275 yards and two touchdowns. Throwing no interceptions, Cutler posted a QB rating of 140.1.

Offensive lineman Chris Williams and wide receiver Earl Bennett were inactive for the Bears in the win.

Green Bay 28, New Orleans 27 – NFL.com Recap
Cornerback Casey Hayward made six tackles for the Packers as they scored a dramatic win over New Orleans. Hayward added a pass defense.

Teammate Sean Richardson was inactive for Green Bay.

Other Notes
Myron Lewis was inactive for Tampa Bay during the Buccaneers’ 24-22 loss to Washington.

Tight end Brandon Barden remains on the practice squad for the Tennessee Titans.
