STRUTHERS, Ohio — Vanderbilt bowling junior Dannielle Henderson earned a spot on the all-tournament team with a No. 3 individual finish on day two of the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic.

“Today was another solid day,” head coach Josie Barnes said. “The pinfall in match one ultimately cost us a bit in terms of seeding but we are in the championship bracket tomorrow, and that’s what we prepare for.”

Henderson finished the day with games of 178, 213, 225, 257, and 275, averaging 229.60 pins per game to place third individually.

Vandy’s sole loss of the day came in the opening round against Nebraska. Katelyn Abigania led the charge for the Commodores with a 187 game. Henderson contributed a 178 game, but the Huskers won the match by a score of 880-877.

In round 2, Vandy defeated Bryant 1034-946. Henderson added 213, while freshman Lindsay Greim led the Commodores with 218.

Vanderbilt won its third and fourth-round games over Wright State and Maryland Eastern Shore by scores of 1166-993 and 1097-910, respectively. To end the day, the Dores defeated Valparaiso 1061-971.

The final day of the Penguin Classic will begin on Sunday morning when the Commodores face host Youngstown State in the first of three best-of-seven Baker matches.
