NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt men's and women's cross country teams return to action Friday morning at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational in Chicago.
The Commodore women will open competition in the 6K race at 9 a.m., while the men will follow in the 8K race at 9:40 a.m.
At the Vanderbilt Invitational, Jackson Scruggs led the Commodore men with a 16th-place finish in 16:29.73. Luke Churchwell placed 18th in 16:30.10, followed by Sam Darmanie in 19th with a time of 16:30.13. Mark Meister finished 20th in 16:30.28, while Tommy O'Brien rounded out Vanderbilt's scoring runners in 21st with a time of 16:30.46. Mitchel Drees, Brody Chapman, Finn Richards and Michael Skora followed in 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th place, respectively.
On the women's side, Hannah Huyler won the race in 17:54.22. Ella Mogannam finished second in 17:54.29, Myrto Valacha placed third in 17:54.30 and Claire Guiberson came in fourth in 17:54.37. Carolina Areheart rounded out the Commodores' scoring runners with a fifth-place finish in 18:53.67, while Betsy Jepkemei finished 11th in 18:54.39.
